Client Letter: Second Quarter 2014 Update — Staying the Course with Risk Assets

In our year-end letter, we pointed that our positive view of equities and high yield bonds was based on two fundamental beliefs: 1) A longer than expected U.S. business cycle upswing and 2) a still highly accommodative Federal Reserve monetary policy. We continue to maintain this view.

During the second quarter economic data improved from housing to employment increasing confidence that the U.S. economy is rebounding from the worst contraction in GDP since 2009.
