Marty Messinger is the founding member of the MLG Group, with over 60 years of investment experience. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 1973, Marty was a vice president and executive assistant to the chairman and CEO of Merrill Lynch from 1954 to 1973. Roy Neuberger recruited Marty to oversee NB’s Research Department, but eventually Marty followed his true passion of working with clients in an advisory role. He has been honored with two distinguished awards from the University of Rochester, including the Hutchinson Medal and the Eastman School of Music Dean’s Medal. Marty is an avid supporter of American Craft Art and has supported 20 universities throughout the country. Marty received his BA in 1949 from The University of Rochester and his MBA from Columbia University. He is the father of four and grandfather of ten. When Marty isn’t spending time with his family at his home in the Berkshires, you’ll find him traveling the world, including recent adventures to China and India.

Rich Levine is a portfolio manager and senior member of the MLG Group with over 30 years of investment experience. Rich is also a founder and director of the Neuberger Berman Trust Company and a member of the firm's Partnership Committee. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 1989, Rich was a tax attorney and financial planner for the Ayco Corporation, headquartered in Albany, New York. While there, he specialized in investment allocation, estate and tax planning and employee benefits. Rich received his BA from SUNY at Binghamton and his JD from Albany Law School . He has been a lifelong fan of the Mets, Jets, Rangers and NY Knicks — through good times and bad. Rich enjoys spending his free time with his family, and an occasional round of golf.
Sandy M. Pomeroy, Managing Director, serves as a partner of the MLG Group and co-lead portfolio manager on the group’s equity strategies. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman in 2005, Sandy was a vice president of Equities for JP Morgan’s investment bank. From 1995 to 2000, she was a senior officer at Brown Brothers Harriman where she covered multiple sectors for its institutional sales team with a particular emphasis on energy, industrials and health care. From 1990 to 1995, Sandy was affiliated with San Jacinto Partners, a Dallas-based private equity firm, where she focused on structuring oil and gas deals. She began her career in 1983 at Salomon Brothers and then Smith Barney with the paper and forest products team and Equity Capital Markets group respectively. In 1986 she joined the Institutional Research Sales team at Prescott, Ball & Turben. Sandy received her BA from Colgate University and has over 32 years in the investment industry. She appears as a regular guest on Bloomberg TV, CNBC and is often quoted in the Wall Street Journal and Street.com.
David Portny joined the firm in 1993 and the MLG Group in 1999. As a portfolio manager and senior member of the team, David helps oversee our private client accounts. He works closely with our clients and the endowments / foundations for whom we provide customized solutions to meet their unique financial needs. David is a Managing Director of the firm and received his BS from the New York University Stern School of Business and has 20 years of investment experience. David is a native of Manhattan and currently resides in Connecticut with his wife and two children. In his free time, you’ll find David fishing, golfing and skiing with family and friends.
David A. Kiefer, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2015 as a Portfolio Manager for the firm’s Dividend Growth strategy. From 2004-2014, he was head of the Large Cap Value Team at Jennison Associates where he co-managed the Large Cap Value Fund and built the majority of that firm’s Value team. During his time there, he also managed or co-managed concentrated value strategies and several mutual funds, including its Large Cap Blend fund which he was instrumental in growing into a multi-billion dollar strategy for the firm. David began his investment career in 1986 with The Prudential Insurance Company of America (now Prudential Financial), of which Jennison Associates became a wholly owned subsidiary in 1985. He earned an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and a BS from Princeton University. When he is not looking for great stocks to buy for our clients, you can find David traveling with his family throughout the world or on the ski slopes. David is a 29 year industry veteran.

Will Hunter joined Neuberger Berman and the MLG Group in 2006. As a portfolio manager and senior research analyst, Will helps oversee the team’s equity portfolios. Prior to joining the firm, Will worked at JPMorgan's Investment Bank where he was an analyst in chemical equity research. Prior to his role as an analyst, Will was a member of JP Morgan’s Equity Specialty sales team where he focused on energy and industrials names. Will received his BA from Columbia University in 2000, and has over 10 years of investment experience. When he’s not traveling the world to find interesting investment ideas, Will is a long distance runner as well as part owner of a microbrewery and several trendy NYC restaurants. Originally from Connecticut, Will currently resides in Manhattan’s East Village.
Ted Giuliano rejoined the firm in 2009 to join the MLG Group. As a portfolio manager, Ted helps oversee our clients’ fixed income portfolios. In 1984, Ted founded Neuberger Berman’s Fixed Income Group and built it into a significant business prior to the Lehman Brothers acquisition in 2003. He was instrumental in establishing and managing numerous open- and closed-end fixed income mutual funds. Ted has over 35 years of investment experience, including several years at Lehman Brothers. He has been a frequent guest on CNN and CNBC, and is often quoted in The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Ted holds a BA from New York University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business. In 2012, he received NYU’s Alumni Distinguished Service Award. Ted is the treasurer of the Gracie Square River Corporation, and lives in New York City with his wife and two children.
Greg Francfort rejoined Neuberger Berman in 2009 and joined the MLG Group in 2012. Greg’s investment career has encompassed three decades, beginning in 1983 when he joined Credit Suisse First Boston as a sell side analyst covering the Technology sector. In 1991, Greg joined Neuberger Berman as the director of research overseeing the firm's industry analysts. In 1993, he was invited to join Neuberger Berman's Straus Group where he became a partner of the firm and managed in excess of $1 billion of client assets. Following the sale of Neuberger Berman he left the firm in 2004 to teach Security Analysis at Columbia Business School and manage portfolios for family and friends. Greg provides oversight on the team’s Core equity strategy, and has 30 years of investment experience. He graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University and received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. In his free time, Greg enjoys picking great companies, sailing, golfing and traveling with his family. He enjoys back-packing extensively throughout the world.

Shawn Trudeau joined the MLG Group in 2011 as the team's dedicated research analyst. Prior to joining the firm, Shawn worked as an analyst in the Global Equities group of NATCAN Asset Management in Montreal, and previously as an analyst for the U.S. Small Cap group of the Caisse de Depot et Placement du Quebec, the $200B AUM Quebec pension fund. Shawn received his BA from Colgate University earned an MBA from HEC Montreal in 2010. In addition to over 6 years of investment experience, Shawn is a CFA charter holder. When not seeking out interesting investment ideas for our clients, you may find Shawn skiing in his native country of Canada, woodworking in Brooklyn or traveling with friends and family.

Paul Ferraioli joined the firm in 1995 and the MLG Group in 2007. Paul heads the team's trading operation that include equities, derivatives, convertibles and international securities. Prior to joining the group, Paul was a trader on Neuberger Berman’s Prime Brokerage desk and before that he worked within one of the firm's wealth management teams. Paul started his career within the Purchase and Sales Group of Neuberger Berman. He is a Vice President of the firm with over 18 years of investment expertise and is decorated with a host of SEC licenses, including his Series 3, 4, 7, 9, 10, 55 and 63. Paul received his BA and MBA from Saint John’s University. He enjoys reading and following his favorite sports teams: St. John’s Red Storm, Denver Broncos and New York Yankees. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children at their New Jersey home.

Stacy Schimmel Hohenstein is among the longest-tenured member of the MLG Group, having joined in 1987. She is a senior equity trader covering a variety of products which include equities, convertibles and international securities. She holds several SEC licenses including her Series 7 and 63. Stacy has her AAS from Kingsborough Community College and has over 25 years of investment experience. Besides spending time with her family, Stacy is an avid runner and likes to tap into her creative side as a jewelry designer. She is a native New Yorker and currently resides in New York City with her husband and their two children.
Craig Calderon has been with the MLG Group since 2008 when he rejoined Neuberger Berman. As one of the team's dedicated traders, Craig helps oversee a variety of securities including equities, derivatives, convertibles and international securities. Prior to joining the firm, Craig was the head of operations at Solaris Asset Management. He also served as an account manager of hedge fund services at UBS. Craig began his career at Neuberger Berman in 2000 within its Research Sales department and thereafter advanced to become a trader and client relationship manager within the firm's Prime Brokerage division. Craig has over 10 years investment experience along with several designated licenses, including his Series 7 and 63 and received his BBA from Baruch College in 1999. He enjoys cycling, and is a resident of New York City where he lives with his wife and two young sons.
Guitele Douge joined the firm in 1998 and the MLG Group in 1999. As a portfolio administrator, Guitele works closely with our clients, their accountants and attorneys to ensure seamless transactions related to their MLG portfolios. She received her Associates degree from Saint John’s University in 1998 and is a Queens, NY native. She is fluent in French and Creole and enjoys spending free time with her family and friends. Guitele also loves exploring New York City and uncovering new and exciting restaurants. Guitele has over a decade of investment experience as well as securities licenses including her Series 7 and 63.

Christen Crim joined Neuberger Berman and the MLG Group in 2008. As a client relationship manager, Christen works closely with our portfolio managers to provide tailored solutions to meet our clients’ unique financial objectives. Spearheading our financial planning analysis efforts, she helps clients focus on long term goals to better understand how the pieces of their financial picture fit together. Prior to joining the firm, she was a paraplanner for an advisory team at Raymond James Financial. In 2004, Christen began her financial services career as a portfolio administrator for Sigmon Wealth Management (at LPL Financial). In college, Christen played Division I soccer at the University of Oklahoma where she received her BA in Finance. Christen enjoys spending time with family and traveling the world with her husband. She has 11 years of investment experience, has designated licenses that include her Series 7 and 66, and is a candidate for CFP Board’s certification.
Marisa Thibault joined the firm and the MLG Group in 2004. As a senior portfolio associate, Marisa works closely with our portfolio management team to identify and trade bonds for our fixed income private client portfolios. Prior to her involvement with our fixed income portfolios, Marisa was a senior member of our client administration team. She began her investment career in 2000 as a client representative for Dreyfus Retirement Services. Marisa received her BS in Finance from SUNY Old Westbury and her MBA from Baruch College — City University of New York, where she double majored in Economics and International Business Strategy. In her free time, she enjoys reading, organizing charitable walks, and spending time with her husband and two lovely children. Marisa has over 10 years industry experience and multiple licenses including her Series 6, 7 and 63.

Phil Maronilla joined the firm and MLG Group in 2003. As a portfolio associate, he oversees accounts sourced through the various Neuberger Berman distribution channels, both administratively and operationally, and responds to requests from Wealth Advisors and Client Associates. He was previously with Fahnestock and Co. as a junior broker for four years. Prior to that, he worked on the Fixed Income desk at Cantor Fitzgerald. His first employment was as a sales assistant at Crosby Securities, a boutique investment firm specializing in Asia ex-Japan, joining the firm after graduating from NYU with a BS in Economics. Phil was born in the Philippines and moved to New York in 1986. He is an avid cyclist, biking to work several days a week and competes in local races around the city. Phil has several designated licenses including his Series 7 and 63 and has over 15 years industry experience.
Dan Castro joined the firm in 2005 and the MLG Group in 2011. As a portfolio associate, Dan works closely with our portfolio managers to provide wrap around care to our clients and their portfolios, ensuring that overall long-term investment goals are achieved. Prior to joining the MLG Group, he was a supervisor in the Retail Services Group, overseeing a large team of financial professionals who dealt specifically with mutual fund shareholders of Neuberger Berman funds. Dan received his undergraduate degree from Fordham University and his MBA in Finance and Economics from New York University. He is a native of Queens, NY and a loyal Mets fan. Dan also follows European soccer and has traveled overseas to see his favorite teams compete. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his French Bulldog Charley. Dan was also featured on the cover of a well-known fitness magazine, participated in the first running of the bulls on U.S. soil and is also a long distance runner having competed in races throughout NYC and overseas. Dan has over 10 years of investment experience and is a CFA charter holder. He also has multiple securities licenses, including his Series 6, 7, 9, 10, 24 and 63, and 65.
Amy Tucker joined the MLG Group as a portfolio associate in 2011. Prior to that, Amy was the operations manager, supporting both separately managed accounts as well as a long/short equity hedge fund at Pilot Advisors, LP, a registered investment advisor. From March 2000 to March 2002, Amy was a portfolio associate for the value arm of Balis, Lewittes and Coleman, Inc. Previously, Amy was a portfolio administrator for the equity investment team at Glickenhaus & Co. from 1997 to 2000. Amy began her career in 1994 at the Federal Reserve Board as a research assistant in the Banking & Money Market Statistics Division. Amy earned her BA in Economics from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Amy enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and playing softball and touch football. She has over 19 years of investment experience, as well as multiple securities licenses, including her Series 7 and 66.
Denise Lackett joined Neuberger Berman in 2012 and became a member of the MLG Group in 2013. As a portfolio associate, Denise works with our portfolio managers to provide clients with the highest degree of personalized care regarding their accounts. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Denise worked for Bank of America/Merrill Lynch as a client specialist for a private wealth management team. She began her career in 2007 as a compliance officer at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Outside of work, Denise enjoys traveling with her husband, Mike, and spending time with their rescue dog, Willow. Denise received her BS in Business Administration from Susquehanna University and has 8 years of investment experience with securities licenses including Series 66, and 7.

Marc Kramer joined the firm in 2012 and the MLG Group in 2014. Prior to joining the team, he was a member of the house account reconciliations group specializing in cost settlement and supporting the Trust Company. Prior to joining the firm, Marc was the operations manager at Pilot Advisors, LP. From June 2007 to December 2010 Marc worked in the operations department at Johnston Asset Management, a boutique international investment advisor in Stamford, Connecticut. Prior to that, he was the operations manager at Dreman Value Management. Outside of work Marc is an avid reader and enjoys volunteering. He has over 25 years of investment experience and holds both his Series 7 and 66 securities licenses.

Kristina Fox rejoined the firm in 2004 and joined the MLG Group in 2008. As portfolio specialist for the team, she leads our communications effort and works closely with our clients and strategic partners to support their on-going needs. Prior to joining the MLG Group, Kristina served many years as the firm's national accounts manager, working closely with the headquarters of the major wirehouse firms by introducing them to the broad array of Neuberger Berman investment capabilities. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Kristina was a director at Credit Suisse where she was its senior national accounts manager. From 1997 to 1999, she was a regional vice president for Warburg Pincus Asset Management and its wholesaler for the Northeastern region. She began her investment career at Neuberger Berman in 1992, and has over 20 years of investment experience. Kristina received her BA from the University of Southern California and MBA in Finance from New York University, and has designated licenses that include her series 7, 63, and 65. Though a native San Diegan, she and her family have been residents of downtown Manhattan for over two decades.

Gennaro Ferrara joined the firm in 2007 and the MLG Group in 2012. As an associate portfolio specialist, Gennaro co-leads our communication efforts with our clients and partners by contributing to the creation and dissemination of the team's thought pieces and relevant articles we believe our clients will enjoy. Prior to joining the MLG Group, Gennaro worked closely with financial advisors through our firm's intermediary distribution division. In doing so, Gennaro provided our firm's partners the full suite of services Neuberger Berman offers, including our team's highly ranked Equity Income strategy. He began his investment career as a financial advisor at Westco Investment Corp. Prior to that, he was an associate purchasing manager for Omnicom. Gennaro received his BA from The Catholic University of America and is a native of Long Island. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends. He is also a self-proclaimed "waterman" and has been an avid surfer for over 20 years. His surfing adventures have brought him to the shores of Mexico, Puerto Rico, California, and Hawaii. Gennaro has over 7 years of industry experience and has designated licenses that include his Series 7, 63, and 66.
