David J. Shapiro, Vice President, joined the firm in 2005 as a Wealth Advisor. David’s responsibilities include advising individuals and families, as well as foundations, endowments and small businesses on investment strategies. David has extensive investment experience working with both institutional and high-net-worth clients. Previously, David was at Goldman Sachs, where he worked in institutional equities sales and managed senior portfolio manager relationships. Prior to that, he was at Drexel Burnham Lambert in a similar role. David began his career as the assistant to the head of a Fortune 300 manufacturing company and later was an Investor Relations executive for a major broadcasting company. David received a BA, magna cum laude, from Brandeis University, a JD from Rutgers University School of Law, and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
“I spent my early career in the investment business working closely with portfolio managers. That experience taught me much about investment strategy and markets. In advising my clients, I first try to understand their expectations and goals, so that we can partner together to create the right investment solution for them. This partnership includes an active dialogue and the collaborative involvement of my investment strategy, wealth planning and portfolio management colleagues. Ongoing client service, both proactive and quickly responsive, enables me to stay close to my clients as an advisor and to look forward for them so that we are prepared to adjust their investments as their circumstances change.”
—David J. Shapiro, Wealth Advisor
