Nate Dougall, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2019 as Wealth Manager in the Wealth Management Division. As a member of the Marshall Dougall Team, Nate and his partner, Nikki, work closely with individuals, families, foundations, endowments and their advisors to deliver the firm’s wealth planning and broad investment capabilities. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Nate held various investment management positions at several asset management firms. Most recently, he was a financial advisor at Netherby Advisors, LLC, a high- net worth and institutional wealth management firm based in Westport, CT.
Nate was previously a partner and portfolio manager at Friess Associates LLC, the manager of the Brandywine Funds from 1997 to 2007 where he was co-manager of a $1 billion+ portfolio. He was made one of eight partners in 2001 when Friess Associates was acquired by Affiliated Managers Group.
From April 2005 – June 2006, Nate took a leave of absence from Friess and was deployed with the 18th Airborne Corps in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Major in the United States Army. Nate was the lead planner for Infrastructure Security in Iraq responsible for oil, gas and electric infrastructure security, optimization and development. Nate held a top-secret security clearance and was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
Nate is still involved in the Army with the CT Army National Guard serving at the Regional Training Institute (RTI) in Niantic, CT. Additionally, Nate is on the board of the Fairfield County Farm Bureau. Previously, Nate served as Treasurer (2000 – 2004) and Chairman (2003 – 2005) of The Learning Center (TLC) in Jackson, WY – a multi-million dollar non-profit education and therapeutic program for children with disabilities.
Nate graduated from Albany University in 1992 with a dual degree in English and Political Science and received a J.D. from Widener University Delaware Law School in 1997, where he was an editor of the law review.
