Maya Bhandari, Managing Director, is the Chief Investment Officer for Multi Asset, EMEA. Maya joined the firm in March 2025 and is responsible for leading the multi-asset team’s investment and commercial efforts, with a focus on EMEA. A seasoned investor, Maya brings with her over 20 years of experience and a strong track record in distinct market environments. Most recently, she was the Global Head of Multi-Asset at BNP Paribas Asset Management, where she was responsible for €65 billion of client assets and a team of 30 investment professionals in three geographies. She also drove the strategic direction of the business. Prior to that, Maya worked at Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where she managed and co-managed a range of multi asset funds, securing top quartile performance returns over various periods. She was a member of the firm’s Asset Allocation Committee, Risk Oversight and Talent Advisory groups; Maya also chaired the firm’s Macro and Earnings meetings. Maya started her career on the sell-side, first as Head of Emerging Markets at Lombard Street Research and latterly as a Senior Strategist for the Global Macro team at Citigroup. She holds a Master of Philosophy in International Relations from the University of Cambridge and a Master of Economics (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh, both with distinction.
