Neuberger Berman Launches New Offering to Enhance Quality Private Equity Investments Access
London, January 21, 2025 – Neuberger Berman, a leader in the ELTIF space and a private, independent, employee-owned investment manager, proudly announces the launch of the NB Private Equity Open Access Fund, following its successful introduction of one of the first ELTIFs under the revised regulatory regime in early 2024. The fund seeks to provide retail and professional investors access to a diversified portfolio of direct private equity co-investments in a semi liquid structure.
Designed for ease of execution and in accordance with the updated rules, the fund offers monthly subscriptions and quarterly redemptions, and will maintain a target of 15% in liquid investments managed internally by Neuberger Berman. The minimum investment for most share classes is €10,000 making private equity even more accessible to retail investors in the EU. Depending on the country, the fund may also be available direct or via trading platforms.
The fund will focus on direct co-investments in private companies alongside leading private equity managers in their core areas of expertise and in a variety of investment strategies, including strategic growth initiatives, M&A, digital transformation, and operational improvement. The portfolio will mainly target buyout opportunities spread across a range of industries and enterprise values, primarily in the USA and Europe, and will be diversified by vintage.
Investors in the fund will benefit from Neuberger Berman’s co-investment track record spanning over 15 years and its experience in the semi-liquid and intermediary space, managing approximately $14.1 billion across a variety of evergreen private markets vehicles.1 Given their previous expertise in successfully managing 5 ELTIFs, Neuberger Berman was recently named ‘Best Private Equity ELTIF Manager 2024’ by European rating agency, Scope Group.
Neuberger Berman leverages a global platform with a rich history in both private and public market investing. Within private markets, Neuberger Berman is an industry leader and actively manages over $125 billion of investor commitments across fund and direct investments.1 The firm’s integrated platform brings together 35 years of private markets experience and, as a preferred partner to the world’s leading private equity managers, unparalleled access to high-quality investment opportunities and deal flow. José Luis González Pastor, Managing Director, Private Markets, Neuberger Berman, said: “The NB Private Equity Open Access Fund’s strategy provides immediate exposure to a diversified portfolio, eliminating the complexities of capital calls and reinvestment risk decisions with the asset class.
In the past year, we evaluated more than 2,900 opportunities across our private markets’ platform, and continued to deploy our clients’ capital selectively ensuring exposure to a variety of assets.”
José Cosio, Head of Intermediary Global – ex US, Neuberger Berman, said: “The launch of the NB Private Equity Open Access Fund marks another key milestone for our platform. We continue to broaden and deepen our private markets capabilities to all types of investors by offering lower entry minimums and liquidity requirements.
Having launched one of the first ELTIF vehicles under the amended regime in 2024, our experience as a provider of evergreen vehicles and ELTIFs means we are ideally positioned to support clients as they build out comprehensive private markets’ exposure. With client demand continuing to drive us, we look forward to continuing to expand our offerings in this space.”
