Madeline Cary is a Vice President at Neuberger Berman who initially joined the Firm in 2016 and rejoined in 2022. Prior to rejoining in 2022, Ms. Cary was an Investment Associate at Citi Private Bank helping advise UHNW and Family Office clients. Prior to Citi Private Bank, Ms. Cary worked at Neuberger Berman, focused on diligence and execution of private equity fund and co-investments. Ms. Cary graduated cum laude with a BBA in Finance from Southern Methodist University and was named Outstanding BBA for her graduating class.

Chai Gohil, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2022 as a Senior Research Analyst covering the Insurance sector. Previously, Chai worked at two long-short equity hedge funds covering the Global Insurance sector, most recently at Ashler Capital (an affiliate of Citadel LLC). He began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he spent four years on the sell-side covering Life and P&C Insurance and was promoted to Vice President. He has an MBA from Pace University and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Nirma Institute of Technology, India.

Sofia Rivas, Alternatives Specialist, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. As a member of the Alternatives Specialist Team within the North American Intermediary Business, she is focused on building relationships with prospective and existing clients for the firm's Private Markets business. Prior to her current role, Sofia was a member of Neuberger Berman's Corporate Development & Strategy Team. Sofia began her career at PIMCO. She earned a BS in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business – University of California, Berkeley.

J. Michael McCarthy, CFA, Managing Director of Neuberger Berman’s Private Investment Portfolios Group and Head of Infrastructure, joined the firm in 2022. Previously, Michael was a senior portfolio manager with APG Asset Management, where he managed a multibillion-dollar portfolio of direct equity, joint-venture and limited partnership assets across the Americas. Prior to APG, he was at UBS Investment Bank in both the Office of the Chairman and the Americas Infrastructure groups. Previously, he was a founding employee of Infrastructure Ontario, responsible for pioneering the development of public-private partnership projects in Ontario, where he ultimately served as vice president, New Build Nuclear Procurement. Michael began his career with Ernst & Young Corporate Finance. He has served on several Boards, including multiple toll-roads, fiber provider Conterra Networks, as well as several joint-venture and limited partnership advisory Boards. He holds a B. Commerce (Honors) from Queen’s University, an MBA from Columbia Business School, and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Peter Ru, PhD, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2017. Peter is the General Manager of Neuberger Berman Overseas Investment Fund Management (Shanghai) Ltd., based in Shanghai. Peter has extensive experience in Global and China's capital markets, having previously worked as CIO for Galaxy Fund Management, Shanghai HFT Fortune A.M., Invesco Great Wall F.M. and Morgan Stanley Hua Xin FM. Prior to his time in China, Peter worked in the U.S. in various senior capacities managing strategies in asset classes such as U.S. Treasuries, core, core plus and U.S. Mortgages, most notably with Morgan Stanley Investment Management, servicing Central Banks amongst others. Peter received a BS in Physics from Fudan University, an MS in Business from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and a PhD in Physics at Drexel University.

Hiroaki Misawa (三澤 宏明), Senior Vice President, is a Portfolio Manager of the Japanese Equities team at Neuberger Berman. Before joining the firm in2022, he was a Director and CFO for a start-up company in Japan, responsible for managing corporate management affairs and general planning, while also leading the company’s preparation for an IPO. Previously, he was an investment manager focused on concentrated Japanese equity portfolios and multi-asset funds at Aberdeen Standard Investments. He started his career as an analyst at Goldman Sachs Asset Management in Tokyo, managing Japanese private REIT funds. Hiroaki holds a BA in Economics from the University of Tokyo.

Zui Shiromoto, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. He is an Portfolio Manager on the Japanese Equities team. Before joining the firm, he was an investment manager at abrdn, taking active roles in the management of Japanese equity portfolios and in the engagement activities with corporates. He also covered a wide range of companies across the Japanese equity market. Prior to that, he worked at the technology, media and telecom investment banking division of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, and was involved in a number of mergers & acquisitions and capital market transactions. Zui began his career at the real estate finance team in MUFG Bank’s corporate banking division. He has a BA in Economics from Hitotsubashi University.

Renos Savvides is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and Head of Equity Capital Markets. Renos joined Neuberger Berman in 2022, and is responsible for coordinating ECM activity across the Neuberger Berman platform. Prior to joining the firm, he was most recently with Credit Suisse, where he was responsible for ECM coverage of the Technology, Financial and Real Estate sectors. Renos began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he was a member of the Equity Capital Markets division, focused on public and private transactions across a number of industry verticals. He holds a BS in Economics and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Jose Pluto, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2021. Jose is a Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team, where he is focused on securitized credit. Previously, Jose was Head of Mortgage Credit Research for Aegon Asset Management, where he oversaw research efforts across several structured finance sectors. Additionally, Jose has held research and investment roles at Thornburg Investment Management and Stark Investments and worked in the interest rate products groups at Goldman Sachs, Bank One and J.P. Morgan. Jose earned a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jason Smith, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1997. Jason is a Senior Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team. He serves as a Portfolio Manager on multiple fixed income strategies, with primary responsibility for mortgage-backed securities. Previous to his portfolio management and trading responsibilities, he was involved in macroeconomic research. Jason received his BA in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University.

Victor Grigore, CFA, Senior Vice President, is a Portfolio Manager on the Investment Grade Credit team with a specific responsibility for Global and European IG Credit strategies. Prior to assuming portfolio management responsibilities in 2022, Victor worked as an IG Credit research analyst, covering European Financial sector. Prior to joining the firm in 2013, he worked as an IG Credit portfolio manager at State Street Global Advisors. He began his career in 2005 at RBC Capital Markets as a credit analyst. Victor received a BBA from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia and a Masters in Applied Statistics from Birkbeck College. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Emily Chiu, Vice President, joined the firm in 2022. Emily is a Client Portfolio Manager based in Hong Kong and serves as an investment specialist for different product teams in Neuberger Berman in Asia. Previously, Emily worked at Fiera Capital Asia, where she was responsible for business development and investor relations. Before that, Emily was at Schroders as a product executive for their Multi-Asset Team. Emily earned a MSc in Management from Imperial College, London

Gregory P. Francfort, Managing Director, rejoined the firm in 2009. Greg is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Messinger Group and before that served as the Director of Global Equity Research since November 2009. Greg had previously retired from Neuberger Berman in 2004 to manage personal investments and to teach security analysis at Columbia Business School. He was a Portfolio Manager in the Straus Group from 1994 to 2004 and prior to that served as the firm’s Director of Research. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Greg was the Associate Director of Equity Research and a technology stock analyst at First Boston Corporation where he was an Institutional Investor All-Star analyst in two industries. Greg earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, summa cum laude, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School.

Mark McDonnell, SVP, Head of Funds Client Services, Head of Operations for NBAMIL, joined the firm in 2022. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Mark held the position of Designated Person for Capital and Financial Management for Ashmore Investment Management (Ireland) Limited in Dublin. Prior to that, Mark worked for Blackrock in Dublin and spent 6 years in London working for Ashmore as Head of Fund Administration. Mark holds a Master’s degree in International Business and Development from Birkbeck London, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Economics from Trinity College Dublin.

Ed Thomas, CFA, Associate, joined the NB Alternative Investment Management team as a Research Analyst in 2022. Prior to this, Ed was a Client Service Associate, having joined the firm in 2019. Ed graduated from Durham University with a degree in Modern Languages (French, Spanish & Catalan). Ed has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Eileen Furukawa, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2022. Eileen is a Portfolio Manager on the Emerging Market Equity team, focusing on Technology and Internet sectors. Prior to joining the firm, she worked for Itaú Asset Management as a Portfolio Manager for their Emerging Markets Equity strategy; also focused on Technology and Internet sectors. Before that, she was a Senior Analyst at both Goldman Sachs Asset Management and at BlackRock, covering Technology, Internet and Gaming. She also worked at Moon Capital as a Portfolio Manager, and at Citigroup Investment Research as a Senior Research Analyst, covering U.S. Internet and Media. She earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and attended Harvard Law School and University of California, Berkeley Law School where she received her JD. She also obtained a BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara double majoring in Computer Science and Economics.

Wei Siong Cheong, CFA, Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. Wei Siong is a Portfolio Manager on the Emerging Markets Debt team based in Singapore, responsible for both Asia and China onshore fixed income portfolios. He was previously involved in managing absolute-return portfolios, focusing on both hard-currency and local-currency Global Emerging Market strategies in a large institutional single Family Office and HSBC Singapore. Earlier in his career, he was a fixed income analyst, conducting bottom-up fundamental research across Asia Investment Grade and High Yield credits in Nikko Asset Management and an Asia-focused hedge fund, Blue Rice Investment Management. Wei Siong earned a BBA from Nanyang Technological University and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jonathan Adolph, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2016. Jonathan joined the Principal Strategies Group as Product Specialist and Head of Investor Relations in 2022. Prior to this role, he was a Senior Vice President in the firm’s Institutional Client Group, responsible for running the North American Family Office business. Jonathan began his career as an investment banking analyst at Peter J. Solomon Company and has more than 15 years of investing experience at private equity funds, hedge funds and family offices, including Lakeview Capital, Balyasny Asset Management, Prism Partners, Waud Capital Partners and Madison Dearborn Partners. He graduated with an AB cum laude in Economics from Harvard and received an MBA with honors from The University of Chicago.

D. Pike Aloian is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and a member of Almanac’s investment committee. Mr. Aloian is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investment of Almanac’s funds. Prior to joining Almanac in 1988, he was a vice president at The Harlan Company, where he was responsible for property acquisition, development and financing. Mr. Aloian serves on the boards of EastGroup Properties (NYSE:EGP), Merritt Properties, Shaner Hospitality Finance, and Welcome Group. He has also served on the boards of Brandywine Realty Trust (NYSE:BDN), BSR Trust (formerly known as Summit Housing Partners), CRT Properties (NYSE:CRO), Denholtz Holdings, Drawbridge Realty Trust, Metrogate LLC, Morningstar Mini-Storage, Shaner Hotel Holdings, Shaner Mortgage REIT, Victory Real Estate Investments and Mount Auburn. He has also served as an adjunct professor of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mr. Aloian graduated from Harvard College in 1976 and received an MBA from Columbia University in 1980.

Mr. Haltiner is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is the portfolio manager of the Almanac Realty Securities (“ARS”) Fund Series. He is responsible for the origination, structuring, and management of the investments across Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of ECI Group, CIP Real Estate 2.0, Storage Post, CIP Real Estate 1.0 and Welcome Group. He has formerly served on the boards of Shaner Hospitality Finance, Winter Properties, Westcore Properties and Claros Mortgage Trust. Prior to joining Almanac in 2008, he was in the Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group of Credit Suisse. Mr. Haltiner graduated from the University of Georgia in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Mr. Silberstein is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investments of Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of CIP Real Estate, L3 Capital, PREP Property Group, Claros Mortgage Trust and Davlyn Investments. He has also served on the boards of NRES Holdings, RXR Realty, Welsh Property Trust, Winter Properties, WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:WIR), RAIT Financial Trust (NYSE: RAS), Westcore Properties and Slate Asset Management.
Prior to joining Almanac in 2009, he served as the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Stoltz Real Estate and during the same period established AMS Real Estate Partners. Prior to that, he worked in real estate investment banking and private equity, first at Bear Stearns and then Morgan Stanley. He has been a member of National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the Urban Land Institute and ICSC.
Mr. Silberstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 and received an M.B.A. in 1995 from New York University Stern School of Business where he was a Glucksman Fellow.

John Amoasi, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. John is a Stewardship & Sustainable Investing Specialist on the Emerging Markets Debt Investment team, responsible for key ESG initiatives across the platform, working closely with research analysts, portfolio managers and teams across the firm. His primary focus is on corporates, contributing to the evolution of our ESG process. Prior to this, John worked at Franklin Templeton as a senior sustainable investment specialist and as a fixed income product specialist at Legg Mason, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and PIMCO. John has a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from University College London. He is a CFA Charter holder and passed the CFA Certificate in ESG investing.

Jamaal Powell joined the firm in 2022. Jamaal is a Research Analyst on the Non-Investment Grade Credit team with a specific focus on telecommunications, cable and broadcasting as well as the homebuilding & industrials sectors. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Neuberger Berman intern in the summer of 2021. He began his career in 2014 at JP Morgan Chase, most recently serving as an associate in Asset & Wealth Management. Jamaal earned a BBA in Finance from Howard University, and a MBA with a specialization in Investment Management from UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Dmitry Gasinsky, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2005. Dmitry is a Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing Private US Residential Real Estate Debt Strategies. Prior to assuming his current role, Dmitry served as head of US mortgage credit research, leading the team’s research, modeling, quantitative strategy, and quantitative investment / portfolio analysis effort, while also being directly involved in new product development, analysis and implementation. Prior to joining the firm, he spent three years at The Vanguard Group, where he served as a fixed income trader and assisted in managing $16 billion in municipal bond assets. Dmitry earned an AB degree in Economics with distinction from Cornell University and an MBA with concentration in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jacob Greene, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2022. As Head Strategist for NB Custom Direct Investing (CDI)™, he is focused on developing the custom SMA platform and supporting client efforts. Previously, Jacob spent over a decade in various positions at Parametric, Eaton Vance and Morgan Stanley, working with RIA and Private Bank clients on due diligence, platform placement and distribution of direct investing solutions.
