Sean Hinze, Managing Director, is a member of Neuberger Berman’s Specialty Finance team, focusing on hard assets, infrastructure and other esoteric asset classes.
Jeff Blazek, CFA and Managing Director, is Multi-Asset Co-Chief Investment Officer. Jeff joined Neuberger Berman in 2024 and, along with Multi-Asset Co-CIO, Erik Knutzen, is responsible for co-leading the firm’s multi-asset investment activity, driving portfolio construction and developing investment outlooks. He serves as co-chair of the firm's Asset Allocation Committee and Public Private Investment Committee, and he is also a member of the Investment Risk Committee. Previously, Jeff spent over 12 years at Cambridge Associates, having founded and led the firm’s New York City office, and serving as co-leader of the Endowment & Foundation practice and as Head of the Healthcare practice. Jeff has also worked in-house at two investment offices: Managing Director at New York-Presbyterian Hospital for three years, and Portfolio Manager at Teacher Retirement System of Texas for five years. Jeff has over 26 years of investment experience. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Professional Accounting from University of Texas at Austin, and he is a CFA Charterholder. Jeff serves on the BBA Advisory Board for UT’s McComb School of Business.
Andrew Hurowitz is a member of Almanac’s investment team and is responsible for conducting securities and sector analysis, valuation and transaction execution for the ARS Funds. Mr. Hurowitz graduated magna cum laude from the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University in May 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Applied Economics and Management with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Real Estate.
Zachary Sigel is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman, Co-Founder of Marquee Brands and a member of the Board. Mr. Sigel has responsibilities for Marquee Brands and specifically Brand Investments. Mr. Sigel has successfully completed numerous acquisitions in the consumer brand industry. Prior to forming Marquee Brands, Mr. Sigel focused on all aspects of consumer investing across the Neuberger Berman private equity platform. Before joining Neuberger Berman in 2007, Mr. Sigel worked as a Consumer Equity Research Analyst at Lehman Brothers where he was responsible for covering public equities in the Consumer Staples sector. Mr. Sigel graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in finance from The George Washington University.
Tyler Czinege is a Senior Vice President, Principal at Neuberger Berman. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman Private Equity in 2011, Mr. Czinege completed a public accounting internship at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Czinege graduated with a master’s degree in Accounting from Trinity University in 2011 and with a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Trinity in 2010.
Patricia Miller Zollar is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and a leader of the Firm’s Private Investment Portfolios practice. She is a member of the Co-Investment and Private Investment Portfolios Investment Committees. Additionally, Ms. Zollar sits on the Limited Partner Advisory Boards of a number of funds. Before rejoining Neuberger Berman in 2004, Ms. Zollar was a vice president in the Asset Management Division of Goldman Sachs. Ms. Zollar began her career as a Certified Public Accountant in the Audit Division of Deloitte & Touche. She received her MBA from Harvard Business School and her BS, with highest distinction, from North Carolina A&T State University, where she is Chairperson Emeritus of the Board of Trustees and the recipient of an honorary Doctorate degree. Ms. Zollar is a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the Harvard Business School Alumni Board and was a former member of the executive board of the National Association of Investment Companies. She serves as Vice Chairman of The Apollo Theater and a member of the Investment Committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Board of Trustees and the Neuberger Berman Foundation Board of Trustees.
Ping Zhou, PhD, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2006. Ping is the CIO of quantitative investments in Neuberger Berman (Shanghai) and a senior portfolio manager of the Quantitative and Multi-Asset Class (QMAC) division. His primary responsibilities are quantitative equity portfolio management and research, as well as other applications of quantitative investments such as asset allocation. He leads the firm's effort in building China quantitative equity business and heads the firm's systematic emerging market equity investments. Ping has also been a portfolio manager of the firm's systematic global equity strategy from 2010 to 2017. Prior to joining the firm, Ping was an assistant professor of accounting at the Stan Ross Department of Accountancy, Zicklin School of Business, City University of New York, Baruch College, where he taught MBA and undergraduate Financial Accounting courses. Ping is the author of two books, "Trading on Corporate Earnings News: Profiting from Targeted, Short-Term Options Positions" and "Option Strategies for Earnings Announcements: A Complete Empirical Analysis". He has published research in high-quality academic journals such as Contemporary Accounting Research, Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Investing, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy and Journal of Investing. Ping earned a BS in Economics (Accounting) at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (China). He completed the coursework for his M. Econ (Finance) at Fudan University (China) and was awarded his PhD in Accounting from Georgia State University. Zui Shiromoto, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. He is an Portfolio Manager on the Japanese Equities team. Before joining the firm, he was an investment manager at abrdn, taking active roles in the management of Japanese equity portfolios and in the engagement activities with corporates. He also covered a wide range of companies across the Japanese equity market. Prior to that, he worked at the technology, media and telecom investment banking division of Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities, and was involved in a number of mergers & acquisitions and capital market transactions. Zui began his career at the real estate finance team in MUFG Bank’s corporate banking division. He has a BA in Economics from Hitotsubashi University.
Zack Schroeder, CFA, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2017. Zachary is a Trader on the Investment Grade Credit team and is responsible for trading the Technology and Utilities sectors. Prior to trading, he was a Senior Research Analyst on the team. Zachary previously spent two years at Fitch Ratings as a credit analyst where he covered both Investment Grade and High Yield companies in the Technology, Media, and Telecom sectors. He began his career in 2010 conducting Investment Grade sales at Sterne Agee. Zachary received a BS in Finance from the University of Iowa and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Eric Zhou, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2016. Eric is a Portfolio Manager for the Option Group at the firm, where he is focused on the implementation of investment strategy, quantitative research, and derivative strategy modeling related to the firm’s option and volatility-based strategies. Before joining Neuberger Berman, Eric was a research analyst at Horizon Kinetics, where he worked primarily on derivatives- related research, and also supported the firm’s broader research efforts. Previously, Eric worked for UBS Wealth Management. Eric received a BS from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and an MA in the Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University.
Eli Salzmann, Managing Director, joined the firm in January 2011. Eli is the lead Portfolio Manager for the US Large Cap Value strategies. He has been managing the Large Cap Value Institutional portfolios since March 2011 and the Large Cap Value mutual fund (NBPIX) since January 2012. Prior to joining the firm, Eli spent nearly 14 years at Lord Abbett & Co. LLC as the lead portfolio manager, partner and director of large cap value. Eli received an MBA from the New York University Stern School of Business and a BA from Princeton University.
Jose Luis Gonzalez Pastor is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman in the Private Equity team and a senior member of the firm's Private Investment Portfolios group where he leads fund investments and direct co-investments. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Mr. González worked at Qualitas Equity Partners, a Spanish Private Equity Fund focused on the Iberia middle-market. Before that, Mr. González worked as Investment Banking Analyst at DC Advisory Partners (formerly known as Atlas Capital Close Brothers and currently Daiwa Securities). Mr. González received an MBA with honors from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a MA with honors in International Studies at the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. González graduated with a BA in Business Administration and a LLB in Law from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE).
