Gregory P. Francfort, Managing Director, rejoined the firm in 2009. Greg is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Messinger Group and before that served as the Director of Global Equity Research since November 2009. Greg had previously retired from Neuberger Berman in 2004 to manage personal investments and to teach security analysis at Columbia Business School. He was a Portfolio Manager in the Straus Group from 1994 to 2004 and prior to that served as the firm’s Director of Research. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Greg was the Associate Director of Equity Research and a technology stock analyst at First Boston Corporation where he was an Institutional Investor All-Star analyst in two industries. Greg earned a BS in Civil Engineering from Rutgers University, summa cum laude, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School.
Yulin (Frank) Yao is Managing Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Green Court Capital Management. Prior to founding the firm, he was Vice Chairman of Asia and Managing Director at Neuberger Berman (“NB”) and Senior Portfolio Manager for the NB Greater China Investment Team, originally joining NB in 2008. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Avenue Capital where he was responsible for directing the investment activities of the Avenue Greater China Equity Funds. From 2004 to 2007, he was an Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Hua An Fund Management where he managed a team of over 40 investment professionals with overall responsibility for investment, research and trading for RMB 50 billion (or US$7 billion) assets. Frank also played a leading role, along with Lehman Brothers, in designing, launching and managing the Hua An International Balanced Fund, China’s first QDII investment fund. He helped triple the firm’s assets under management during the period. From 2002 to 2004, Frank worked for Berens Capital, a New York based hedge fund investment firm, where he was responsible for portfolio construction, quantitative analysis and risk management. From 1999 to 2001, Frank developed and managed a quantitative equity portfolio at Alpha Asset Management. From 1996 to 1999, Frank conducted global asset allocation and risk management at Goldman Sachs and from 1993 to 1996 helped build the mortgage backed securities analytics for Dow Jones (formerly Telerate), all in the US. Frank was a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Shanghai Pudong from 2006 to 2017. He used to sit on the QDII Expert Committee for China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). He was also a member of the Financial Market Expert Group for PBOC (PRC’s central bank) from 2005 to 2007. Frank received an MBA in Finance in 1998 from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was honored as a Stern Scholar. He conducted Ph.D studies in Engineering at Columbia University, earned an MS from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS from Fudan University.
Gabe Feghali, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2020. Gabe is a Client Advisor on the North American Client Coverage Team and is responsible for covering Corporate Pensions, Endowments, Foundations, Public Institutions, and Sovereign Wealth Funds. Gabe joined the firm from AQR Capital where he worked with institutional investors, co-created and hosted its podcast, The Curious Investor. Prior to that he was in the investment banking divisions at UBS and Credit Suisse. Gabe holds a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Karen Bi, Senior Vice President, is a Modeling Analyst on the NB Specialty Finance Team. Prior to joining NB in 2020, Karen served more than seven years at Colchis Capital performing portfolio risk analysis, and evaluating new investment opportunities. She graduated from Stanford University with a MS in Management Science and Engineering as well as University of Maryland, College Park with a BS in Economics and Minor in Actuarial Mathematics.
Chai Gohil, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2022 as a Senior Research Analyst covering the Insurance sector. Previously, Chai worked at two long-short equity hedge funds covering the Global Insurance sector, most recently at Ashler Capital (an affiliate of Citadel LLC). He began his career at Morgan Stanley, where he spent four years on the sell-side covering Life and P&C Insurance and was promoted to Vice President. He has an MBA from Pace University and a Bachelor’s in Engineering from Nirma Institute of Technology, India.
Tom Tharayil, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2018. Tom is a Senior Research Analyst on the European Non-Investment Grade Credit team. Tom covers the Automotive, transportation, leisure, education and services sectors. Previously, Tom was a Senior Credit Analyst in the European Leveraged Finance Credit team at Medirect. Prior to that, Tom spent his associate and analyst years at HSBC and Credit Suisse in their Leveraged Finance origination teams, respectively. Tom holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge and a bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from Anna University.
Ajay Singh Jain, CFA, FCCA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2014. Ajay is the Head of Fixed Income Quantitative Investments and a Senior Portfolio Manager. Ajay joined the firm from Barclays Capital where he served as Head of Portfolio Engineering for Funds & Advisory, a business he cofounded in 2005. Ajay and team built the quantitative tactical asset allocation capabilities at Funds & Advisory, a process that was used to manage a number of absolute return funds, portfolios and overlay strategies for institutional clients. Ajay has more than 18 years industry experience which includes portfolio management, risk management and banking positions with Deutsche Bank and Toronto Dominion Securities. Ajay earned an MBA from INSEAD and is a graduate of Delhi University. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Antonio Serpico, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2018. Antonio is a Senior Portfolio Manager specializing in non-USD Investment Grade credit markets and is responsible for strategy and performance of Euro Investment Grade allocations across portfolios as well as being a lead portfolio manager on Global and Euro Credit/Aggregate Mandates. Previously, Antonio was managing ABS funds and CDOs for Fortis Investments, most recently serving as portfolio manager for unconstrained flagship funds at BNP PAM. He began his career in 2000 as an associate analyst in Structured Finance research at Moody’s Investors Service. Antonio received his degree in Industrial Engineering from Padova University.
Peter Ru, PhD, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2017. Peter is the General Manager of Neuberger Berman Overseas Investment Fund Management (Shanghai) Ltd., based in Shanghai. Peter has extensive experience in Global and China's capital markets, having previously worked as CIO for Galaxy Fund Management, Shanghai HFT Fortune A.M., Invesco Great Wall F.M. and Morgan Stanley Hua Xin FM. Prior to his time in China, Peter worked in the U.S. in various senior capacities managing strategies in asset classes such as U.S. Treasuries, core, core plus and U.S. Mortgages, most notably with Morgan Stanley Investment Management, servicing Central Banks amongst others. Peter received a BS in Physics from Fudan University, an MS in Business from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and a PhD in Physics at Drexel University.
Jose Pluto, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2021. Jose is a Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team, where he is focused on securitized credit. Previously, Jose was Head of Mortgage Credit Research for Aegon Asset Management, where he oversaw research efforts across several structured finance sectors. Additionally, Jose has held research and investment roles at Thornburg Investment Management and Stark Investments and worked in the interest rate products groups at Goldman Sachs, Bank One and J.P. Morgan. Jose earned a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Sean Hinze, Managing Director, is a member of Neuberger Berman’s Specialty Finance team, focusing on hard assets, infrastructure and other esoteric asset classes.
Jason Smith, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1997. Jason is a Senior Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team. He serves as a Portfolio Manager on multiple fixed income strategies, with primary responsibility for mortgage-backed securities. Previous to his portfolio management and trading responsibilities, he was involved in macroeconomic research. Jason received his BA in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University.
Thomas Obaseki, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2021. Thomas is a Client Advisor in the North American Institutional Client Group, working with public and corporate pensions, foundations, endowments, family offices and other institutions. Additionally, Thomas also serves as the US Public Funds client segment lead. Thomas joined the firm from Acadian Asset Management where he co-led the US public pensions practice nationally. Prior to Acadian, Thomas was with Wellington Management Company as a multi-asset investment specialist & a consultant relations officer. Earlier in his career, he held institutional investments & sales positions at Fidelity Investments and with J.P. Morgan's Investment Bank. Before business school, Thomas served as a Captain in the United States Army, leading a large combat unit in Baghdad, Iraq. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal. Thomas received an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and a B.S. in Engineering Management from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Paul Daggett, CFA is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and a senior member of the Private Investment Portfolios and Co-investments team. He is also a member of the Private Investment Portfolios and Co-investments Investment Committee. Paul joined Neuberger Berman in 2004 focusing on investments in private equity and venture capital funds and direct co-investments in venture capital, growth equity and buyout transactions. Paul sits on the Limited Partner Advisory Boards of a number of venture capital and private equity fund relationships and has Board of Directors Observer seats for a number of direct venture and growth capital investments on behalf of Neuberger Berman Funds. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Paul worked in the European Equity Derivatives Group at JPMorgan Chase & Co. He holds an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University and a BEng, with honors, in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol. Paul is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (FCA) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Roberto Garolla di Bard is a Vice President and started his career at NB Renaissance in 2018. He has been involved in a number of transactions, including Savio, Uteco, Engineering, Inetum and Bending Spoons. Mr. Garolla graduated cum laude in Business Administration from Federico II University of Naples and received a Double M.Sc. Degree from Bocconi University and Rotterdam School of Management, respectively in Accounting, Financial Management & Control and in Finance & Investments.
Francesco Moglia, is a Managing Director of NB Renaissance Manager and NB Renaissance Partners Holdings. Previously, he was a Principal of the Private Equity Group at Intesa Sanpaolo’s CIB Division, where he was responsible for MIR capital, the group’s private equity joint venture with Gazprombank. Prior to joining the Private Equity Group, he was General Manager of Société Européenne de Banque, in Luxembourg. Mr. Moglia started his career in the London Branch of Intesa Sanpaolo, where he led the Financial Engineering team. He is on the board of Private Equity International, the Intesa Sanpaolo group company which manages investments in international private equity funds and joint ventures, as well as other traditional and alternative Luxembourg funds, including MIR Capital. He graduated in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University and received his Master in Finance from the London Business School.
Raheel Siddiqui, Managing Director, Senior Research Analyst, joined the firm in 2004. Raheel is the Senior Investment Strategist in the Neuberger Berman Global Equity Research Department. In this role he researches impending inflection points in the business cycle, risk appetite, inflation, global asset classes, US sectors, style (growth vs. value), and size to enhance fundamental stock selection and portfolio construction processes by taking advantage of emerging trends not fully appreciated by the market. His research spans finding systematic ways of distilling leading or confirming messages from macroeconomic, quantitative, derivatives data, and behavioral data as well as periodically evaluating portfolios for efficient asset allocation. Prior to this role, Raheel was a part of Lehman Brothers US Equity Strategy Team where he co-authored over 100 strategy reports, many of which were quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, and Barron’s. Raheel also worked as a senior member of the Corporate Development team at Monsanto for six years, where he developed industry leading and award winning approach for valuing genomics assets. Raheel earned MS/BS degrees in Biochemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Columbia University. Raheel has also been published with the American Institute of Physics. Alan Tsang, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2012. Alan is the Director of Research - Asia in the Global Equity Research Department and manages the Hong Kong-based research team. In addition to his management responsibility, Alan is also responsible for covering the Asian financials and property sectors, supporting all Neuberger Berman Portfolio Management Groups. Alan began his career at Citigroup as an investment banking analyst covering the financial sector. He has worked at Citigroup Alternative Investments as well as hedge funds Basso Capital and GWI as a buy-side analyst covering the financial sectors globally. Alan graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science degree and a Masters of Engineering Degree, both in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
D. Pike Aloian is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and a member of Almanac’s investment committee. Mr. Aloian is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investment of Almanac’s funds. Prior to joining Almanac in 1988, he was a vice president at The Harlan Company, where he was responsible for property acquisition, development and financing. Mr. Aloian serves on the boards of EastGroup Properties (NYSE:EGP), Merritt Properties, Shaner Hospitality Finance, and Welcome Group. He has also served on the boards of Brandywine Realty Trust (NYSE:BDN), BSR Trust (formerly known as Summit Housing Partners), CRT Properties (NYSE:CRO), Denholtz Holdings, Drawbridge Realty Trust, Metrogate LLC, Morningstar Mini-Storage, Shaner Hotel Holdings, Shaner Mortgage REIT, Victory Real Estate Investments and Mount Auburn. He has also served as an adjunct professor of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mr. Aloian graduated from Harvard College in 1976 and received an MBA from Columbia University in 1980.
Mr. Haltiner is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is the portfolio manager of the Almanac Realty Securities (“ARS”) Fund Series. He is responsible for the origination, structuring, and management of the investments across Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of ECI Group, CIP Real Estate 2.0, Storage Post, CIP Real Estate 1.0 and Welcome Group. He has formerly served on the boards of Shaner Hospitality Finance, Winter Properties, Westcore Properties and Claros Mortgage Trust. Prior to joining Almanac in 2008, he was in the Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group of Credit Suisse. Mr. Haltiner graduated from the University of Georgia in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.
Mr. Silberstein is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investments of Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of CIP Real Estate, L3 Capital, PREP Property Group, Claros Mortgage Trust and Davlyn Investments. He has also served on the boards of NRES Holdings, RXR Realty, Welsh Property Trust, Winter Properties, WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:WIR), RAIT Financial Trust (NYSE: RAS), Westcore Properties and Slate Asset Management. Prior to joining Almanac in 2009, he served as the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Stoltz Real Estate and during the same period established AMS Real Estate Partners. Prior to that, he worked in real estate investment banking and private equity, first at Bear Stearns and then Morgan Stanley. He has been a member of National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the Urban Land Institute and ICSC. Mr. Silberstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 and received an M.B.A. in 1995 from New York University Stern School of Business where he was a Glucksman Fellow.
John Amoasi, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. John is a Stewardship & Sustainable Investing Specialist on the Emerging Markets Debt Investment team, responsible for key ESG initiatives across the platform, working closely with research analysts, portfolio managers and teams across the firm. His primary focus is on corporates, contributing to the evolution of our ESG process. Prior to this, John worked at Franklin Templeton as a senior sustainable investment specialist and as a fixed income product specialist at Legg Mason, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and PIMCO. John has a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from University College London. He is a CFA Charter holder and passed the CFA Certificate in ESG investing.
Atul Kumar, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2014. Atul is a Portfolio Manager on the Multi-Asset Class Portfolio Management Team. His focus is on building quantitative and statistical strategies for management of multi asset class portfolios. Prior to joining the firm, he was at Barclays Capital for seven years. He was the lead strategy manager for absolute return and risk premia strategies. Atul has co-authored a paper on “Remote Robot Navigation & Control Using Fuzzy Logic.” He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and MBA from Indian Institute of Management.
Dmitry Gasinsky, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2005. Dmitry is a Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing Private US Residential Real Estate Debt Strategies. Prior to assuming his current role, Dmitry served as head of US mortgage credit research, leading the team’s research, modeling, quantitative strategy, and quantitative investment / portfolio analysis effort, while also being directly involved in new product development, analysis and implementation. Prior to joining the firm, he spent three years at The Vanguard Group, where he served as a fixed income trader and assisted in managing $16 billion in municipal bond assets. Dmitry earned an AB degree in Economics with distinction from Cornell University and an MBA with concentration in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Derek Devens, CFA, joined the firm in 2016. Derek is a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of the Option Group. Prior to Neuberger Berman, Derek was responsible for both Research and Portfolio Management at Horizon Kinetics. Derek was a member of the Investment Committee and responsible for co-managing the Kinetics Alternative Income Fund and various separate account strategies. Prior to Horizon Kinetics, Derek was a Vice President with Goldman Sachs’ Global Manager Strategies Group where he was responsible for conducting investment manager research. Previously, Derek was a fixed income portfolio manager at both Fischer Francis Trees & Watts as well as Bond Logistix. He received a BS in Civil Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from New York University. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Varun Surapaneni, Vice President, joined the firm in 2023. Varun is a Quantitative Analyst on the Specialty Finance team. Previously, Varun was a Vice President within Sound Point Capital's Specialty Finance Team focusing on consumer, small business, commercial and student loan assets and he was responsible for due diligence, underwriting, monitoring, and structuring of investments. Varun began his career at WebBank where he worked on managing credit risk for consumer and SMB loans and evaluating new opportunities in the Fintech lending space. He earned a B.Tech. in Production and Industrial Engineering with a minor in Business Management from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MS in Operations Research from Columbia University.
Christopher Kramer, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2017 as an Portfolio Manager and Senior Trader on the Investment Grade Credit team. Christopher is responsible for trading the TMT, Consumer Cyclical, Capital Goods, and Transportation sectors. Previously, he worked in a similar capacity at Wells Capital Management for the Montgomery Fixed Income team where he began his career in 2010. Christopher received a BA in Business with a concentration in Finance from Gonzaga University.
Mohammad Shakourifar, PhD, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2017, following the acquisition of Breton Hill Capital Ltd (BHC). Mohammad is the Co-Head of Investment Research & Development, leading the design and implementation of investment algorithms that drive systematically traded portfolios. His work includes developing portfolio optimization engines, tax-aware portfolios, and factor-based strategies. Prior to joining BHC, Mohammad was a Quantitative Researcher at Sigma Analysis, specializing in alternative risk premia, factor analysis, and innovative fee structures for a large Canadian pension client. Mohammad's published work has appeared in peer-reviewed journals, including "Innovations in Derivatives Markets", "SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing", "Physics in Medicine and Biology" and "BIT Numerical Mathematics". Mohammad is the winner of the “John Butcher Prize in Numerical Analysis” awarded by the Australian Mathematical Society, and the “Best Student Paper Award” at the International Conference on Applied Mathematics, Modeling, and Computational Science, Waterloo, 2011. Piero Galli is an Operating Partner and joined NB Renaissance in 2019. He has been involved in a number of portfolio companies including Engineering, Uteco and Inetum. Prior to NB Renaissance, he served as Director and Partner of Bain & Co. in Italy for 21 years, where he founded and ran the TMT practice serving both Italian and global clients. Subsequently, Mr. Galli served as General Manager of Milan Expo 2015, the universal world fair taking place every 5 years, which welcomed 140 participating countries and over 22 million visitors. Mr. Galli started his career as a business developer of Cameli & Co. Group, a large Italian industrial conglomerate, after having served as a controller of local newspapers of Editoriale l’Espresso, the largest Italian publishing company. Mr. Galli graduated cum laude in Business Administration from Genova University.
Yan Taw (YT) Boon, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2013. Based out of Hong Kong, YT is Head of Thematic – Asia and Portfolio Manager for Neuberger Berman’s research thematic portfolios, including Next Generation Connectivity and InnovAsia. YT previously served on Neuberger Berman's Global Equity Research Department as an equity analyst covering the Asian technology & telecommunications sector. Prior to that, he spent 2.5 years as a sell-side research analyst at Credit Suisse (Hong Kong) covering the Asian technology sector. YT started his career in the technology sector, where he spent more than nine years working as a microprocessor designer at semiconductor companies, including ARM (U.K.), Cadence (U.K.), Broadcom (U.K.) and Huawei (HK, China). He graduated with a BEng in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton (UK) and a MSc in System Level Integration from the University of Edinburgh (U.K.).
Badis Chibani, CFA, Vice President, joined the firm in 2024. Badis is a Senior Research Analyst on the Investment Grade team with a focus on the European Financial sector. Prior to joining the firm, Badis was a Senior Credit Analyst at Degroof Petercam Asset Management where he covered European and US banks across all capital structure for Investment Grade and High Yield names. Previous experiences include roles in Debt Capital Markets Bank Capital Solutions at SMBC Nikko and Credit Agricole CIB. Badis earned an Msc in Aerospace Engineering from Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées (IPSA) and a Mastère Spécialisé in Financial Engineering from ESSEC Business School. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
George Caughey is an Analyst of Neuberger Berman. He joined the firm's Insurance-Linked Strategies team in 2023 to provide analytic support to the team, as well as contributing to longer-term projects. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, George completed the 'REACH' Graduate Scheme at Gallagher Re, gaining experience in both Catastrophe Analytics and Reinsurance Broking. George received an MEng in Civil and Structural Engineering from The University of Sheffield.
Pieter D'Hoore, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2018 as Head of European Private Debt. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Pieter was heading Private Debt at NN (formerly known as ING Insurance). Previously, Pieter held several roles in portfolio management and fixed income structuringat ING. He started his career as a trader at Delta Lloyd Securities. Pieter graduated from the University of Leuven as a Master in International Politics and a Postgraduate in Business Economics. He earned a Master in Financial Economics from the Leuven School of Business Economics.
David Yi Wan, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2001. David is a Portfolio Manager on the Quantitative and Multi-Asset Class (“QMAC”) team responsible for Global Risk Balanced Portfolios and Commodities. He focuses on research and development of asset allocation and commodities investment strategies. In addition, he is responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management and implementation of these strategies. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Assistant Vice President with the Information Management department at Lehman Brothers. Previously, he was deputy director of the Science & Technology Office with Chongqing Cheng-Yu Expressway Company Limited in China. David received a BS in Engineering Mechanics from Tongji University (China), an MS in Computer Science from the City College of New York and an MBA from New York University Stern Business School.
James F. McAree, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2008 when David J. Greene and Company was acquired by Neuberger Berman. Jim is a Research Analyst for the Neuberger Berman Intrinsic Value strategies and a co-Portfolio Manager for the Mid Cap Intrinsic Value Funds and the Small Cap Intrinsic Value Fund. Prior to the acquisition, he was a Principal and Research Analyst at David J. Greene and Company, LLC where he was responsible for stock recommendations and ongoing research. Previously, he was a Senior Vice President at Investment Counselors of Maryland where he was the co-manager of a $1.5 billion institutional Small Cap stock mutual fund. Prior to that, Jim spent five years at Lazard Frères & Co. LLC as a sell-side equity Research Analyst and two years at Dillon Capital Management as an Equity Analyst. He also spent five years as a general partner at McBell Management, a residential real estate development partnership. He holds a BS in General Engineering from the United States Military Academy and an MBA in Finance from the University of Michigan.
Hakan Kaya, PhD, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2008. Hakan is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Quantitative and Multi-Asset Strategies team responsible for Global Risk Balanced Portfolios and Commodities. He contributes to asset allocation research with a focus on risk management and has a record of publishing research in both refereed journals and white papers on timely investment issues. Prior to joining the firm, he was a consultant with Mount Lucas Management Corporation where he developed weather risk and statistical relative value models for commodities investment. Dr. Kaya received BS degrees summa cum laude in Mathematics and Industrial Engineering from Koc University in Istanbul, Turkey and holds a PhD in Operations Research & Financial Engineering from Princeton University.
Cosmo Elms, Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. Cosmo is a Client Portfolio Manager based in London and covers the firm's Equity strategies. Cosmo joined from Legal & General Investment Management, where he was most recently Head of ETF Business Development. In this role, Cosmo was responsible for the market positioning of LGIM's ETF business in Europe and scoping commercial opportunities in key UCITS ETF markets globally, with a focus on LGIM's flagship Thematic ETF range. Cosmo started his career at Mercer Investments in London, where he worked with institutional investors to develop their investment strategy and manager selection. Cosmo graduated with a Masters in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK.
David Levine, CFA, Managing Director, is an Associate Portfolio Manager on the Large Cap Value fund. Since joining the firm’s Risk Arbitrage group in 1995, he has held a number of other portfolio management positions for multiple portfolio management teams, serving institutional and mutual fund clients. David earned a Bachelor’s of Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Brad C. Tank, Managing Director, joined Neuberger Berman in 2002 and served as Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Fixed Income until 2023. In 2024, he held the roles of Global Head of Fixed Income and Co-Chief Investment Officer. Currently, Brad serves as a Senior Advisor in Fixed Income. Up until 2025, he was an active member of several key committees at Neuberger Berman, including the Partnership, Investment Risk, Asset Allocation Committees, and Fixed Income’s Investment Strategy Committee. From inception in 2008 through 2014, Brad was also Chief Investment Officer of Neuberger Berman’s Multi-Asset Class Investment business. From 1990 to 2002, Brad was director of fixed income for Strong Capital Management in Wisconsin. He was also a member of the Office of the CEO and headed institutional and intermediary distribution. In 1997, Brad was named “Runner Up” for Morningstar Mutual Fund Manager of the Year. From 1982 to 1990, he was a vice president at Salomon Brothers in the government, mortgage and financial institutions areas. Brad earned a BBA and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.
Jon Jonsson, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2013. Jon is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Global Investment Grade and Multi-Sector Fixed Income strategies. He is a member of the Fixed Income Investment Strategy Committee and the Fixed Income Multi-Sector Group. Prior to joining the firm, Jon was employed by J.P. Morgan for 15 years. Most recently he served as Head of the Global Aggregate Team at J.P. Morgan in London. Jon received a Master's in Financial Engineering from New York University and a BSc in Applied Mathematics from the University of Iceland. As previously announced, Jon Jonsson will retire on December 31, 2025. Jon's portfolio management responsibilities will be transitioned over the course of 2025.
Patrick Liu, is Head of APAC of Neuberger Berman Asia Limited. He joined Neuberger Berman in 2017. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Patrick was CEO of HFT Investment Management, a joint venture of BNP Investment Management and Haitong Securities. Patrick joined HFT from Deutsche Asset Management where he was regional head for the Greater China region. Prior to that, Patrick spent 6 years in various institutional sales and managerial roles with Invesco and Invesco Great Wall in both Hong Kong and China. Patrick has been managing sizeable asset management platforms in China for nearly twenty years providing investment solutions to institutional and retail investors for both onshore and offshore investments. Patrick commenced his career at Rothschild’s in their investment banking division in London. Patrick obtained an MBA from Oxford University, and Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Shanghai Jiaotong University.
Dave Edwards, Head of Workplace Technology, joined Neuberger Berman in 2004. Dave has global responsibility for the firm's End User Technology environment, including Microsoft 365 services, workstation and VDI technology, remote access, audio/visual and conferencing technology, and mobility. Prior to his current role, he served as the Head of Platform & Core Services, overseeing the server, storage and core services for the firm. Before joining the firm, Dave spent four years at Lehman Brothers, where he held a senior infrastructure position, and 10 years as a senior consultant with a Microsoft partner firm. He holds a degree in Management Science & Information Systems, with a second major in Economics from Rutgers University.
Michael Asika, Research Analyst, European Private Loans, joined Neuberger Berman in 2022. He started his career at the firm as an intern with the Emerging Markets Debt investment team. Michael holds a Master of Science in Finance, Investment, and Risk from the University of Kent and a Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Engineering from Coventry University.
Kostas Deslis, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2017 to work on the Global Fixed Income and Currency Team. Kostas’s primary responsibility is trading and portfolio management of portfolio strategies, but he also contributes to the quantitative and fundamental research of the Global Fixed Income team. Kostas also conducts cross asset research and trading of structured solutions across various portfolios. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman Kostas worked for more than 3 years at Deutsche Bank AG. At Deutsche Bank he was the Cross Asset Model Methodology specialist in London. He also worked as trading Assistant in the EM Derivatives team. Kostas holds an MSc in Mathematical Trading and Finance for Cass Business School, an MSc in Financial Engineering and Alpha Design from WorldQuant and a first-class BSc and MSc in Applied Physics from the National Technical University of Athens.
Paloma Lopez Imizcoz is a Vice president and has joined NB Renaissance in 2023 with a responsibility for ESG, Responsible Investing and sustainable growth. She works closely with the Investment team and portfolio companies to deliver tangible value through sustainability. Ms. Lopez Imizcoz has over 8 years of experience in the strategic sustainability and circular economy field, advising corporates and financial institutions in the integration of ESG topics within business management. Prior to NB Renaissance, she was Senior Manager in the Deals & Strategy practice of PwC Italy, which she joined in 2021 to boost the growth of the ESG Strategy & Value creation practice. Prior to that, she was an ESG Rating Senior Analyst within the Cerved Rating Agency (Cerved Group). Paloma started her career as a Sustainability Project Manager in a multinational food and packaging company based in Argentina, where she was focused on sustainability projects within supply chain management. Ms. Lopez Imizcoz graduated cum laude in Environmental Science from the Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), Faculty of Agricultural Engineering, and received in 2021, the degree of the International MBA in the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano.
