Biography
Vira Kartseva, PhD, CFA, Senior Vice President, is the Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio Manager and Strategist, specializing in tactical asset allocation across the full EMD spectrum. Since joining the firm in 2013, she has been a driving force behind the team’s macro‑strategic positioning, contributing deep analytical insight and conviction‑driven views across hard currency, local currency, and corporate debt markets.
With extensive experience as an emerging markets strategist, Vira brings a distinctive combination of quantitative rigor, fundamental understanding, and market intuition. Before joining the firm, she held a similar EMD strategy role at ING Investment Management, where she was responsible for tactical allocation and managed an EMD Opportunities strategy combining hard and local currency exposures.
Vira began her career in quantitative research, building the analytical foundation that continues to underpin her investment approach. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics (cum laude) from Kharkiv National University of Radio Electronics, a Master’s degree in Information Management, and a PhD in Economics and Business Administration from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
