Mauricio Barreto, Managing Director, joined the firm in January 2015 and is based in Bogota, Colombia. Mauricio is the Head of Client Group and responsible for managing and developing Neuberger Berman’s Business in Latin America (Chile, Colombia, Peru and Mexico). Prior to opening the representation office in Colombia, Mauricio distributed Neuberger Berman’s funds through a correspondent agreement with Acciones y Valores for 5 years, covering institutional clients and helping them to structure private equity portfolios. Earlier in his career, Mauricio worked for Lehman Brothers as a Vice President, where he was addressing institutional clients that were domiciled in Colombia. He was responsible for, among other things, implementation of tactical assets, introducing private equity programs for institutional clients and trading of equities, fixed income, structured notes and repos. He has over 30 years of experience in sales and client coverage. Mauricio holds a BA in Economics from Universidad de los Andes and an MBA from Florida International University.
