5G is a game changer as it is the key building block enabling a new wave of innovations, including Internet of Things, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Connected Vehicles.

We expect 5G adoption rate to accelerate globally given increasing 5G network deployment momentum and 5G smartphone launches. According to the latest Ericsson Mobility Report, 5G subscriptions are projected to reach 2.6 billion and 5G coverage to reach 55-65% of the world population by 2025.

Keysight is a leading US-based company focusing on producing electronics test & measurement equipment and simulation software platforms.

The company is a spin-off from the electronic test and measurement division of Hewlett-Packard and became independent in 2014. The division had a strong R&D history (since the 1950s) for radio communications in the defense and commercial sectors.

Today, Keysight’s test & measurement equipment is a key enabler of the R&D efforts for the next generation radio communications. This includes 5G network infrastructure (on higher radio frequency bands) and 5G chipsets and devices.

The company should see an accelerated earnings boost from the expansion of 5G network infrastructure and increasing complication of IoT devices.
