Clay Khan, CFA, Head of Canadian Business
Clay Khan, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2012. Clay is the Head of Canadian Business, overseeing distribution and client service across the country. Prior to joining the firm, Clay worked for J.P. Morgan Asset Management as a Client Advisor. He was responsible for business development for pension, insurance, endowment and foundation investors throughout the country. Prior to this role, Clay worked at Xerox Canada Ltd., focusing on business development for large corporations and public entities. Clay earned an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University and has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Lesley D. Nurse, Head of Global Consultant Relations
Lesley Nurse, CFA, Managing Director, joined Neuberger Berman in 2018. Lesley is Head of Global Consultant Relations and a member of the firm’s Partnership and ESG Committees. Prior to joining the firm, she was a Director at KKR, managing relationships with institutional consultants and a select group of clients. Previously, she was Head of Consultant Relations at PineBridge Investments (formerly AIG Investments) focused on the cultivation and development of relationships within the consultant channel. Prior experience includes Consultant Relations, Sales and Marketing roles at Deutsche Asset Management and PaineWebber. She holds a BS with honors from the Pennsylvania State University and is a CFA Charterholder. Lesley Co-Chairs the board of Ifetayo Cultural Arts Academy.
Angelina Li, Client Advisor
Angelina Li, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2012. Angelina is a Client Advisor and a member of the Institutional Client Group, responsible for business development for public and private pensions, endowments and foundations, and family office investors. Prior to joining the firm, Angelina worked at American Express as a Financial Analyst. Angelina received an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business at Western University.
Ross Neilson, Client Advisor
Ross Neilson, Senior Vice President, joined Neuberger Berman in January of 2021 as a Client Advisor working with Canadian intermediary, family office and multi-family office clients. Prior to joining Neuberger, Ross was a Regional Vice President at Sunlife Financial responsible for insurance sales through independent insurance brokers into the high and ultra-high net worth market. Prior to that role Ross was the head of sales at Purpose Investments where he managed the national sales team and also worked directly with institutional clients. Ross earned his Bachelors Degree from the University of Western Ontario.
Simone Paquet, CAIA, Client Service Advisor
Simone Paquet, CAIA, Vice President, joined the firm in 2021. Simone is a member of the North American Institutional Client Group working with institutions and family offices in Canada. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Simone worked on the Operational Due Diligence team and Compliance team at HarbourVest Partners. Previously, she worked in London, UK at Quilter Cheviot supporting fund administration efforts. Simone received a BA in Legal Studies with a minor in French from The University of California, Berkeley.
Eashan Jhamb, Client Associate
Eashan Jhamb, Client Associate, joined the firm in 2022. Eashan is a member of the Institutional Client Group, supporting the business development effort for public and private pensions, endowments and foundations, and family office investors. He previously worked as a sales analyst on the Capital Markets & New Listings team at NASDAQ Stock Exchange. Eashan has a BBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

This Proxy Season: NB Votes Preannounces Proxy Vote Decisions and Rationales

In its second year, the NB Votes initiative will publish our vote intentions in advance of select shareholder meetings, with a focus on companies where our clients have significant economic exposure. As part of an expanded global effort, NB Votes will address a broad range of topics across our nine key governance and engagement principles with a balance of votes in support of and against management recommendations, enabling us to share our broad analysis and insights. In the 2021 proxy season, we expect corporate response to the COVID-19 crisis and social justice advocacy to play a key role in our vote decisions.

We are the only large U.S. asset manager (AUM >$100 billion) to pre-announce our voting intentions in this way. We are not a traditional activist manager—we look to invest in companies with management teams we admire, and we seek to be a supportive shareholder generally with longer holding periods than most. We think this approach shows our commitment to being engaged owners, to leadership and to working to improve the companies in which our clients invest.
