John San Marco, CFA, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2014. John is a Senior Research Analyst in the Global Equity Research Department, covering retail and e-commerce. He was named a TopGun Investment Mind by Brendan Wood International in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and has discussed the consumer sector on appearances at CNBC, WSJ, Bloomberg and Barron’s, among others. For six years prior to joining the firm, he was an equity analyst at Janney Montgomery Scott, where Institutional Investor recognized him as a “Rising Star” in the consumer goods sector. Before that, he worked for Wells Fargo (formerly Wachovia) for two years each in the credit capital markets division and the equity research department, analyzing securities across the capital structure in the consumer sector. Gloria Lam, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2015. Gloria is the Head of Asia Credit Research in the Emerging Markets Debt team. She has covered various countries and sectors in Asia and CEEMEA through her corporate research career. Gloria manages the corporate credit research process in Asia and leads the corporate default analytics & assessment in global emerging markets. Her primary research focus is in Asia financial and consumer sector currently. Prior to joining the firm, Gloria was a vice president in Credit Research for Waha Capital, an Abu Dhabi-based investment company. She was an integral contributor to the build-out of the credit research platform, and specialized in corporate credit research in China, Korea, Thailand, GCC and Turkey. Prior to that role, she worked as an analyst in the principal investment team at Lehman Brothers in Tokyo. Gloria received a Bachelor Degree of Business Administration from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Brian E. Hahn, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1995 as a Wealth Advisor in the Chicago office. Brian leads The Hahn Team, a group of eight professionals specializing in designing, implementing, and managing customized wealth management plans for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Peter Ru, PhD, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2017. Peter is the General Manager of Neuberger Berman Overseas Investment Fund Management (Shanghai) Ltd., based in Shanghai. Peter has extensive experience in Global and China's capital markets, having previously worked as CIO for Galaxy Fund Management, Shanghai HFT Fortune A.M., Invesco Great Wall F.M. and Morgan Stanley Hua Xin FM. Prior to his time in China, Peter worked in the U.S. in various senior capacities managing strategies in asset classes such as U.S. Treasuries, core, core plus and U.S. Mortgages, most notably with Morgan Stanley Investment Management, servicing Central Banks amongst others. Peter received a BS in Physics from Fudan University, an MS in Business from Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business and a PhD in Physics at Drexel University.

Jose Pluto, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2021. Jose is a Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team, where he is focused on securitized credit. Previously, Jose was Head of Mortgage Credit Research for Aegon Asset Management, where he oversaw research efforts across several structured finance sectors. Additionally, Jose has held research and investment roles at Thornburg Investment Management and Stark Investments and worked in the interest rate products groups at Goldman Sachs, Bank One and J.P. Morgan. Jose earned a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. He has been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Jason Smith, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1997. Jason is a Senior Portfolio Manager within the Global Securitized Products team. He serves as a Portfolio Manager on multiple fixed income strategies, with primary responsibility for mortgage-backed securities. Previous to his portfolio management and trading responsibilities, he was involved in macroeconomic research. Jason received his BA in Mathematics and Economics from Duke University.

Gregory P. Francfort, Managing Director, rejoined the firm in 2009. Greg is a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Messinger Group and before that served as the Director of Global Equity Research since November 2009. Greg had previously retired from Neuberger Berman in 2004 to manage personal investments and to teach security analysis at Columbia Business School. He was a Portfolio Manager in the Straus Group from 1994 to 2004 and prior to that served as the firm’s Director of Research. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Greg was the Associate Director of Equity Research and a technology stock analyst at First Boston Corporation where he was an Institutional Investor All-Star analyst in two industries. D. Pike Aloian is a Managing Director of Neuberger Berman and a member of Almanac’s investment committee. Mr. Aloian is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investment of Almanac’s funds. Prior to joining Almanac in 1988, he was a vice president at The Harlan Company, where he was responsible for property acquisition, development and financing. Mr. Aloian serves on the boards of EastGroup Properties (NYSE:EGP), Merritt Properties, Shaner Hospitality Finance, and Welcome Group. He has also served on the boards of Brandywine Realty Trust (NYSE:BDN), BSR Trust (formerly known as Summit Housing Partners), CRT Properties (NYSE:CRO), Denholtz Holdings, Drawbridge Realty Trust, Metrogate LLC, Morningstar Mini-Storage, Shaner Hotel Holdings, Shaner Mortgage REIT, Victory Real Estate Investments and Mount Auburn. He has also served as an adjunct professor of the Columbia University Graduate School of Business. Mr. Aloian graduated from Harvard College in 1976 and received an MBA from Columbia University in 1980.

Mr. Haltiner is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is the portfolio manager of the Almanac Realty Securities (“ARS”) Fund Series. He is responsible for the origination, structuring, and management of the investments across Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of ECI Group, CIP Real Estate 2.0, Storage Post, CIP Real Estate 1.0 and Welcome Group. He has formerly served on the boards of Shaner Hospitality Finance, Winter Properties, Westcore Properties and Claros Mortgage Trust. Prior to joining Almanac in 2008, he was in the Real Estate Finance and Securitization Group of Credit Suisse. Mr. Haltiner graduated from the University of Georgia in December 2006 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance.

Mr. Silberstein is a member of Almanac’s investment committee and is responsible for the origination, structuring and management of the investments of Almanac’s funds. He currently serves on the boards of CIP Real Estate, L3 Capital, PREP Property Group, Claros Mortgage Trust and Davlyn Investments. He has also served on the boards of NRES Holdings, RXR Realty, Welsh Property Trust, Winter Properties, WPT Industrial Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:WIR), RAIT Financial Trust (NYSE: RAS), Westcore Properties and Slate Asset Management.
Prior to joining Almanac in 2009, he served as the Chief Investment Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Stoltz Real Estate and during the same period established AMS Real Estate Partners. Prior to that, he worked in real estate investment banking and private equity, first at Bear Stearns and then Morgan Stanley. He has been a member of National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, the Urban Land Institute and ICSC.
Mr. Silberstein graduated from Yale University in 1989 and received an M.B.A. in 1995 from New York University Stern School of Business where he was a Glucksman Fellow.

Dmitry Gasinsky, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2005. Dmitry is a Senior Portfolio Manager overseeing Private US Residential Real Estate Debt Strategies. Prior to assuming his current role, Dmitry served as head of US mortgage credit research, leading the team’s research, modeling, quantitative strategy, and quantitative investment / portfolio analysis effort, while also being directly involved in new product development, analysis and implementation. Prior to joining the firm, he spent three years at The Vanguard Group, where he served as a fixed income trader and assisted in managing $16 billion in municipal bond assets. Dmitry earned an AB degree in Economics with distinction from Cornell University and an MBA with concentration in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago. He has also been awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Tripp Taylor, CFA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2003. As a Senior Wealth Advisor, Tripp works closely with his clients to develop personalized investment solutions to meet their long-term financial goals. Previously, he held positions at Rochdale Investment Management, Citigroup Private Bank and John Hancock Funds. Tripp received a BBA from the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management. Christopher Kramer, Senior Vice President, joined the firm in 2017 as an Portfolio Manager and Senior Trader on the Investment Grade Credit team. Yulin (Frank) Yao is Managing Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager at Green Court Capital Management. Prior to founding the firm, he was Vice Chairman of Asia and Managing Director at Neuberger Berman (“NB”) and Senior Portfolio Manager for the NB Greater China Investment Team, originally joining NB in 2008. Previously, he was a Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager at Avenue Capital where he was responsible for directing the investment activities of the Avenue Greater China Equity Funds. From 2004 to 2007, he was an Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer at Hua An Fund Management where he managed a team of over 40 investment professionals with overall responsibility for investment, research and trading for RMB 50 billion (or US$7 billion) assets. Frank also played a leading role, along with Lehman Brothers, in designing, launching and managing the Hua An International Balanced Fund, China’s first QDII investment fund. He helped triple the firm’s assets under management during the period. From 2002 to 2004, Frank worked for Berens Capital, a New York based hedge fund investment firm, where he was responsible for portfolio construction, quantitative analysis and risk management. From 1999 to 2001, Frank developed and managed a quantitative equity portfolio at Alpha Asset Management. From 1996 to 1999, Frank conducted global asset allocation and risk management at Goldman Sachs and from 1993 to 1996 helped build the mortgage backed securities analytics for Dow Jones (formerly Telerate), all in the US.
Frank was a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Shanghai Pudong from 2006 to 2017. He used to sit on the QDII Expert Committee for China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). He was also a member of the Financial Market Expert Group for PBOC (PRC’s central bank) from 2005 to 2007. Frank received an MBA in Finance in 1998 from the Stern School of Business at New York University, where he was honored as a Stern Scholar. He conducted Ph.D studies in Engineering at Columbia University, earned an MS from Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS from Fudan University.

Pieter D'Hoore, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2018 as Head of European Private Debt. Prior to joining Neuberger Berman, Pieter was heading Private Debt at NN (formerly known as ING Insurance). Previously, Pieter held several roles in portfolio management and fixed income structuringat ING. He started his career as a trader at Delta Lloyd Securities. Pieter graduated from the University of Leuven as a Master in International Politics and a Postgraduate in Business Economics. He earned a Master in Financial Economics from the Leuven School of Business Economics.

Brad C. Tank, Managing Director, joined Neuberger Berman in 2002 and served as Chief Investment Officer and Global Head of Fixed Income until 2023. In 2024, he held the roles of Global Head of Fixed Income and Co-Chief Investment Officer. Currently, Brad serves as a Senior Advisor in Fixed Income. Up until 2025, he was an active member of several key committees at Neuberger Berman, including the Partnership, Investment Risk, Asset Allocation Committees, and Fixed Income’s Investment Strategy Committee. From inception in 2008 through 2014, Brad was also Chief Investment Officer of Neuberger Berman’s Multi-Asset Class Investment business. From 1990 to 2002, Brad was director of fixed income for Strong Capital Management in Wisconsin. He was also a member of the Office of the CEO and headed institutional and intermediary distribution. In 1997, Brad was named “Runner Up” for Morningstar Mutual Fund Manager of the Year. From 1982 to 1990, he was a vice president at Salomon Brothers in the government, mortgage and financial institutions areas. Brad earned a BBA and an MBA from the University of Wisconsin.

William J. Peterson, Managing Director, joined the firm in 1992. As a Senior Wealth Advisor, Bill provides investment management and estate planning guidance and emphasizes that gaining an accurate understanding of clients’ needs and risk parameters is essential to achieving success. He began his career in the industry in 1991 and received a BA in Economics from Fairfield University. Dave Edwards, Head of Workplace Technology, joined Neuberger Berman in 2004. Dave has global responsibility for the firm's End User Technology environment, including Microsoft 365 services, workstation and VDI technology, remote access, audio/visual and conferencing technology, and mobility. Prior to his current role, he served as the Head of Platform & Core Services, overseeing the server, storage and core services for the firm. Before joining the firm, Dave spent four years at Lehman Brothers, where he held a senior infrastructure position, and 10 years as a senior consultant with a Microsoft partner firm. He holds a degree in Management Science & Information Systems, with a second major in Economics from Rutgers University.

Stephen Smith, CFA, FSA, Managing Director, joined the firm in 2016. Steve is the CIO of Insurance Investments, responsible for advising, structuring, and managing insurance portfolios across asset classes. In addition to portfolio management, Steve oversees Solutions, which is responsible for strategic and quantitative analysis for institutional clients, especially strategic asset allocation, capital management, and asset-liability management. Steve is closely involved with US insurance regulatory developments, chairing the C-1 Subcommittee at the American Academy of Actuaries. Previously, Steve held positions as an insurance strategist at Goldman Sachs and as an actuary at MassMutual. Steve graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of South Carolina.

Peter is a Senior Portfolio Manager who is responsible for strategy development, investment sourcing and capital markets for private market residential real estate credit management strategies. Peter joined the firm after a 17 year career in the Mortgage and Structured Products divisions at Morgan Stanley, Lehman Brothers, and most recently, Bank of America.
